Ms. Thembisa Jimana, a native of Mdantsane in Eastern Cape, embodies a commitment to community development and entrepreneurial excellence. Her journey is marked by a rich tapestry of experiences and achievements, showcasing her dedication to women’s empowerment, governance, and strategic leadership.

Professional Background: Thembisa’s career spans over 20 years in internal audit, risk management, and governance. She has held key roles in both public and private sectors, including significant contributions to organizations like Ezemvelo and Grant Thornton. Notably, her efforts at Ezemvelo led to the removal of a 17-year assets audit qualification, a testament to her proficiency in driving organizational excellence.

Entrepreneurial Ventures: Thembisa’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through her founding and management of multiple successful ventures, including Sithelo Events, Jimana Vacations and Tours, TeeJay Florals, Jimana Foundation, and Discover Mzansi Arts Festival. Her dedication to supporting women’s development is evident in her foundation’s work, providing crucial assistance with company registration and business mentoring.

Leadership and Advocacy: Thembisa’s leadership extends beyond business, as she actively engages in advocacy and governance roles. She has served on the Msunduzi Local Municipality Audit Committee, eThekwini Municipality Economic Council, and currently holds board positions at prestigious institutions like the National Library of South Africa and the South African Council for Social Service Professions.

Education and Qualifications: Thembisa’s academic journey includes a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance from Stellenbosch, ongoing studies for a Master of Commerce at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and certifications in director development and business management. Her expertise is further augmented by specialized training in social entrepreneurship and community women development.

Philanthropy and Community Engagement: As Treasurer General of the Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF) and a member of the Black Business Council (BBC) Women Leadership Executive, Thembisa remains actively involved in advocating for inclusive economic policies and empowering marginalized communities.
