establishing the BRICS WBA
The initiative of establishing the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) was proposed at the First International Women’s Congress of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS member states on July 4, 2017. In the framework of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship, the Inaugural Meeting of the BRICS WBA took place on July 20, 2020.

Actively cooperate in order to increase the participation of women in the economic processes of the five countries. Ensuring the expansion of women’s business networks in and among the five BRICS countries.
- The work of the Alliance will be organized similar to the BRICS Business Council functioning.
- Every national chapter of the Alliance will include five representatives per each BRICS country, led by women who have founded their own businesses or are CEOs of large enterprises, have overcome main barriers and aiming at entering international markets
